Garments

Northern Luzon ethnic groups have a colorful and vibrant textile tradition. The various garments and clothing indicate the social status and their affiliations.

In this subcategory, a collection of garments from Northern Luzon is featured. Items are identified as upper and lower garments for men and women. Upper garments are usually  with sleeves; and lower garments consist of loincloths for men and wrap-around skirts for women.

The garments are  made of cotton embellished with intricate embroidery, beadwork, and adorned with shells to give a visual imagery of the textiles, a reflection of their own local aesthetics.
