Headdresses
The traditional Cordilleran basket headdresses reflect the social functions of the affluent people who wore them. Through time, there is also evidence of resilience and persistence as observed in the changes in form and style of Cordilleran hats. While the technique and material used are the same, the design varies. In the 1900s, the American influences on the basket hat designs were apparent during that time. The widespread use of cowboy and postman-inspired hats circulated among Cordilleran men utilizing the same method of coiling and the use of rattan.
