RESEARCH DATA:

This textile from the collection, designed by Patis Tesoro, features a striped pattern reminiscent of various Cordillera textiles, specifically those of the Tinguian and Ilocano cultures. It also includes traditional embroidery motifs, such as the sinan-tokak (frog-like) and the hand-like or rice plant-like designs, commonly found in kinammayan indigo wrap-around skirts. These skirts often have a diamond-twill woven background that gives an almost textured appearance, embellished with botanical, reptilian, and anthropomorphic motifs (Pastor-Roces, 1991).
