RESEARCH DATA:

A creative innovation by Patis Tesoro, this textile is a swatch that features twill-like horizontal stripes at the center, created by interlocking white weft threads and indigo and gray warp threads in a manner similar to basket weaves employed in binakol blankets (Respicio, 2015). The effect produces a monochromatic appeal – negative and positive hues combined to emphasize the lines that make the stripes design using contrasting colored threads. In the future, this small piece of fabric can be used in visualizing larger textile projects like blankets and skirts to be woven in the future, or as a run-through of a particular design or technique to be used.
