RESEARCH DATA:

There are many new interpretations of the attire used by ethnic groups in the Cordillera region. This textile from the collection is an example of an innovative design by Patis Tesoro, featuring elements reminiscent of Tinguian or Itneg embroidery motifs, delicately stitched on the edges and panels.

Specifically, the blouse showcases red and white stripes on a black background, embellished with diamonds, star-like, frog-like or lizard-like shapes, and zigzags. The borders and hemlines are also embroidered, adding detail and preventing the edges from unraveling. Moreover, beaded fringes are also sewn on the blouse’s bottom.
