RESEARCH DATA:

Among the Kalinga, loincloths with red and yellow-colored patterns on both ends are typically worn by members of the affluent class. These patterns include the inata-ata (an eye-like motif) and zigzag forms (San Agustin, 2007). The designs appear almost “texturized” on the surface of the cloth, blending with its base colors and striped patterns (Pastor-Roces, 1991, p. 253). This textile also features tassels embellished with beadwork and pompoms made of yarn.
