The Cordillera people carry and keep various personal belongings. As such, baskets are handmade for specific objects. From the traditional function of carrying betel-chewing ingredients, and wickerwork for small items, basket weavers produced specialized baskets to carry paper documents and records when they travel outside of their village. These document holders protect important papers like tax certificates and have become useful in keeping important records and documents.
