Coffin Pegs

Traditional burial practices in the Cordillera region involve the use of wooden coffins. Historically, these coffins were often embellished with elaborate decorations with various motifs. Coffin pegs found in the collection also feature anthropomorphic and zoomorphic carvings reflective of certain belief system.
