This item from the collection is an example of a Ga’dang cotton wrap, used as a temporary holder or container for small quantities of raw and processed cotton bolls. Twisted cotton yarns are attached to one end of the wrap and looped around the buttons, which serve as a lock to keep the cotton material securely in place during use.
