This item from the collection is an example of a traditional wooden bowl from the Cordillera. It features a star-shaped bowl known as a duyo. Sitting on two sides of the bowl are anthropomorphic figures in a seated position, facing toward the bowl. The figures and the bowl are carved as one piece with a thick wooden platform. Bowls like this are commonly used during peace pacts, ritual occasions, and may have been utilized as containers for rice wine.
