RESEARCH DATA:

Women from the Ga’dang and Kalinga communities engage in the practice of collecting hair from their deceased relatives, transforming it into locks that are intricately woven into their natural hair, supplementing their intricate coiffures (Anderson, 2010). To further this, tiny and vibrant beads are incorporated to secure and embellish the hairstyle. Additionally, a bead amulet is attached, serving a dual purpose of both holding the hair together and acting as a safeguard against malevolent spirits.
