Shell materials used in Ifugao ornaments were acquired through trading with neighboring groups and communities in the lowlands. These materials were used as pendants, embellishments, implements, and in some cases, as the main feature of the objects. This pair of earrings from the collection features two concave, teardrop-shaped shell pendants with fine engravings of exes, dashes, and lines, hung from brass rings that serve as the earrings hoops.
