RESEARCH DATA:

Known as saong, this versatile accessory serves dual purposes as both a head ornament and a necklace, meticulously crafted from dog teeth and occasionally from long, slender pieces of animal bone interspersed with seed beads. Primarily worn by women, the saong holds cultural significance as a protective charm against thunder and lightning. Additionally, it functions as a talisman warding off malevolent spirits, as detailed by Maramba in 1998.
