A woven bamboo and nito fibers basket which are strapped to the waist when working in the rice terraces. It too serves as a receptacle for storing small snails and fish that are found in the water.

RESEARCH DATA:

The Cordilleran rice fields have abundant edible snails. According to Jenks (1905) the women in Bontoc invariably wear a small, rounded basket called agawin around their hips while working in the rice paddies.
