RESEARCH DATA:

This wooden ladle, known as tawing or ladok (Applay), fakong (Bontoc), or inadu (Ifugao), showcases a distinctive sitting anthropomorphic figure carving motif. While this motif is more prevalent in Ifugao culture, it is not exclusive to it. Wooden ladles are traditionally employed for extracting or transferring food from cooking pots. The age of a ladle can be gauged by examining wear and patina, including surface scratches and dark pigmentations, as discussed by Ellis in 1981.
