RESEARCH DATA:

This wooden bowl is a miniature version of Ifugao duyu. Unlike its large counterparts that were used as food servers or wine servers during rituals (Ellis, 1981), this miniature bowl has a specialized lid with banniya or lizard-like carving which indicates that it was owned by a member of the Ifugao upper class. This small bowl was also used as a spice server and container.
