RESEARCH DATA:

The pinangpanga, a variant of the lingling-o made from brass, exhibits a symmetrical design with anthropomorphic and zoomorphic finials, such as a carabao or water buffalo head. In the mid-section, a void is characterized as a womb, symbolizing fertility, virility, motherhood, and providing protection. The term "pinangpanga" specifically refers to the protrusion on the sides of the lingling-o, representing the head of a carabao or water buffalo. These lingling-o ornaments were worn during festive gatherings as indicators of status and accumulated wealth (Maganon, 2013).
