RESEARCH DATA:

A set of brass pendants, specifically of the hubong type, is meticulously strung together to create a necklace known as dinumog in Ifugao. Worn by both females and males, this accessory functions as a significant status symbol within the community. The pendants bear symbolic representations of carabao horns, signifying their role in the prestige feasts conducted by the kadangyan (affluent class). Consequently, wearing a dinumog conveys that the wearer has participated in ritual offerings, including the butchering of numerous carabaos (Lambrecht, 1929).
