RESEARCH DATA:

Among Abra's most recognizable pinilian textiles are those with horse and man motifs. Itneg textiles with such designs are inspired by their beliefs. According to Respicio (2000), the man on a horse motif references the Itneg to the deity, Indadaya. Their belief system tells that Indadaya, the god of agriculture is known to live in the eastern skies and also believes that he has a horse, and rides on it whenever he goes down to earth (Respicio, 2000).
