This woven textile from the collection features motifs resembling flower petals. It is a type of multi-heddle woven tinumbalitian blanket called kundiman. The blanket has plain strips of yarn, known as pulikos hand sewn around the edges. The kundiman is a plain white tinumbalitian blanket (Respicio, 2015) commonly produced in the Ilocos region by Ilocano weavers. Kundiman blankets hold cultural significance among Catholic Ilocanos. This kundiman blanket is an example of a common gift given during baptisms, birthdays, weddings and is also used as decor during special occasions such during the Lenten or Holy Week season for Catholic Christians, kundiman blankets are employed as curtains or backdrops, locally called luante, and table covers for makeshift altars for the Stations of the Cross (Cunanan, 2015).
