RESEARCH DATA:

The blanket is a plaid inabel, or woven textiles of Ilocos. This plain weave or liniston textile (Respicio, 2015) are common in Ilocano weaving communities. This textile from the collection is an innovation of Patis Tesoro, Filipina fashion designer. Throughout the textile, gray knots float all over the blanket, intersecting lines with embossed ornamentations inserted during the weaving process. Additionally, decorative knotted tassels called singlut (Cunanan, 2015) are used to secure the warp ends of the textile.
