RESEARCH DATA:

In traditional weaving among the Itneg of Abra, one of the techniques is the dinapat, which means woven in “full” or “total,” referring to the design that occupies the entirety of the textile. The dinapat demonstrates the skillful combination of natural dyes in green threads in the warp and weft, creating an illusion of pentagons, while the insertion of the weft yarns forms isosceles right triangles (Rubinstein, 1989). There are no vertical reflections; instead, horizontal axes of reflection travel through the vertices of isosceles triangles with vertical bases. This type of weave is no longer produced in Abra.
