Pipes offer an insight into the region's intricate history of metalworks. Brass pipes, known as kindoman in Benguet, were not only utilized by the Ibaloy and Kankana-ey communities but also found among the Bontoc. The Kankana-ey towns in Benguet and Mountain Province stood out as notable producers of brass pipes in the Cordillera (Casal et al., 1981). According to Casal et al. (1981), the art of crafting these pipes demanded considerable time, with pipe makers dedicating as long as six months to their meticulous creation.
