RESEARCH DATA:

A miniature butterfly-shaped ear ornament known as painga from the Ga’dang ethnic group. This piece in the collection is used as an earring by the Ga’dang ethnolinguistic group in Paracelis, Mountain Province. Worn mostly by women, this earring is adorned with intricate beadwork in red, yellow, white, and black, representing the traditional colours of the Ga’dang.
