RESEARCH DATA:

A yardage is a textile fabric in linear length that can be used to produce textile functional items such as blankets, garments, table runners, and pillowcases by cutting, stitching, and bonding them together later on. A creative innovation and a yardage from the designs of Patis Tesoro, this textile has a red base color with white vertical strips running along its length featuring black motifs that are reminiscent of Bontoc’s traditional linear patterns on their blankets and wrap-around skirts. These white stripes are alternated with green and yellow thin dashed lines running along the length of the cloth that act as bright accents to the textile’s narrow strips. On both the bottom edges are found frayed ends which have resulted from the cutting of this textile out of the weaver’s loom beams.
