RESEARCH DATA:
The pamulang, a shell bracelet traditionally worn by Mandaya women, is used to adorn both arms. It is typically worn together with its wooden counterpart, the pamuwang, which is made from sagaysay wood and functions as a “spacer” (Pastor-Roces, 1991, p. 180). Each arm is adorned with a set of pamulang and pamuwang, usually consisting of ten (10) or more bracelets per set.
