RESEARCH DATA:

The jar shape of the fish trap basket allows the fish to go inside the trap easily, but the pointed inward shape on the mouth prevents it from escaping (Capistrano et.al, 1998). These fish traps are set in the streams and rivers with their conical mouth facing upstream so the fish will be carried by the current. The mix construction technique is the combination of coiling mostly applied at the base of the basket. While twining and plaiting on the body part of the basket.
