RESEARCH DATA:

Locust basket is considered as one of the rarest baskets since it was made during the locust infestation. According to Lane (1986) the able bodied men would catch the locust in huge twined nets and pass these to the women who would take the insect and put them in the butit. In the preparation of this delicacy they will peel off the heads and legs of the locust before roasting it where it is eaten immediately or stored as treats.
