RESEARCH DATA:

The pinilian weaving techniques of Abra weavers are well-known for producing intricate designs with various motifs and patterns. Pinilian textiles feature motifs and patterns that are embossed or raised in relief on the cloth’s surface (Pastor-Roces, 1991). Designed by Patis Tesoro, this textile from the collection is a brocade-woven sample yardage inspired by the pinilian textiles of Abra with innovative contemporary patterns of diamonds and zigzag lines.
